Much talk has surfaced about a "flat tax" on the national level.  This has been seen in proposals for a federal sales tax, and a flat federal income tax.  The primary concerns are that the Federal Income Tax is too high, too complicated, and unfair.  Are these proposed solutions adequate?  Are there other ways to deal with the problems in the current system?  What new problems could the proposed solutions create?
